Getting There is Half the Fun

Hawaiian Airlines is the official airline of islandkitsch.com.

Some lucky travelers are on their way to a great time.

When I started writing this blog, I committed to featuring products that I would use. I've worked to get affiliated with the right advertising partners so that you, the reader, could buy the products and services you see here with confidence. Last week, the blog got very good news. We were approved to be an affiliate advertiser for Hawaiian Airlines. It's hard to relate how cool this is.

First, it's hard to qualify - the affiliate department at Hawaiian Airlines visits each site and will only issue approval if it meets strict standards for content and "look."

Second, I love recommending this company. Anyone who knows me, knows I do it all the time anyway. They are one of the last airlines that offer service far above the "cattle-car" approach most airlines have resorted to these days. Their seating is more generous than the other domestic carriers I've flown with (you know who you are Virgin), the flight attendants seem more friendly, and the atmosphere is as if you have already started your vacation when you board. The flight time from Seattle to Maui is 370 minutes (6 hours, 10 minutes) and I'm always pleasently suprised when the announcement for arrival comes over the cabin speakers. I've endured trips to LA that have seemed to take longer.

To top it off, they are often less expensive than other carriers, especially when you have some flexibility. For instance, just as an example, not to be construed by anyone as a "hint," the price for a round-trip ticket from Seattle(SEA) to Kahului, Maui (OGG) leaving February 7th and returning February 17th is only $390. Now it may just be me, but it seems that there is a special couples holiday that may fall into that time frame. Just saying. By the way, be sure to use the fare calendar option to get substantial savings - picking a date 2 days on either side of your departure or arrival date can save you hundreds of dollars on a pair of tickets.

In less time than the average work day, you could be here.

If you are lucky enough to be planning a trip to the islands, I'm jealous but happy for you. Do yourself a favor, use the link above or on islandkitsch.com, get a great price from one of the last great airlines and support your favorite island related blog at the same time. Mahalo.
